Car Trip Through Europe

Our European road trip begins in Madrid, the vibrant capital of Spain. Madrid is a city that offers a wealth of cultural and historical attractions, such as the Royal Palace, the Prado Museum, and the Retiro Park. After spending a few days in Madrid, we will head to the city of Valencia, located on the eastern coast of Spain. Valencia is known for its stunning beaches, modern architecture, and delicious food, including the famous Paella. We recommend taking a stroll through the old town and visiting the City of Arts and Sciences, a modern complex of museums, theaters, and aquariums.

 

From Valencia, we will drive to the French city of Marseille, located on the Mediterranean coast. Marseille is the second-largest city in France and boasts a rich cultural heritage, including ancient Greek and Roman ruins, picturesque old town streets, and a bustling harbor. We recommend visiting the Notre Dame de la Garde Basilica for panoramic views of the city and taking a boat tour of the Calanques, the stunning limestone cliffs that line the coast.

 

Our next stop in France will be the city of Lyon, located in the Rhône-Alpes region. Lyon is known for its excellent cuisine, particularly its famous bouchons, traditional restaurants that serve hearty regional dishes. Leaving France, we will cross the border into Switzerland, heading towards the city of Zurich. Zurich is a lovely city located on the shores of Lake Zurich and offers a wealth of cultural and natural attractions. Some of the top things to see and do in Zurich include the Fraumünster Church, the Bahnhofstrasse shopping district, and a boat cruise on Lake Zurich.

 

From Zurich, we will continue south to the picturesque town of Lucerne, located in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Lucerne is known for its stunning scenery, including the nearby Mount Pilatus and the Lake Lucerne. Other highlights of Lucerne include the Chapel Bridge, a covered wooden footbridge that spans the Reuss River, and the Lion Monument, a poignant sculpture that celebrates the Swiss Guards who died during the French Revolution.

 

Our next stop will be the Italian city of Milan, known as one of the fashion capitals of the world. Milan is a city of contrasts, with a rich artistic and cultural heritage, as well as a modern, cosmopolitan vibe. Highlights of Milan include the Gothic cathedral of Duomo di Milano, the stunning La Scala opera house, and the exquisite Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a historic shopping arcade. The city is also a great place to indulge in some of Italy's famous cuisine, such as pizza, pasta, and gelato.

 

From Milan, we will drive to the beautiful city of Florence, located in the heart of Tuscany. Florence is known for its stunning architecture, great museums, and delicious food. Some of the top attractions include the Uffizi Gallery, home to some of the world's most famous Renaissance art, the Palazzo Vecchio, the superb Boboli Gardens, and of course the iconic Florence Cathedral with its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi.

 

After spending a few days in Florence, we will head to the spectacular Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. The Amalfi Coast is one of the most lovely stretches of coastline in the world, with its dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters, and charming seaside villages. We recommend taking a boat tour of the coast, visiting the pittoresque town of Positano, and indulging in some of the delicious local cuisinine, such as fresh seafood and limoncello.Contenu par défaut !

Leaving Italy, we will cross the border into Croatia, heading towards the city of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik is a stunning coastal city that is known for its medieval old town, incredible beaches, and rich history. Some of the top things to see and do in Dubrovnik include walking along the ancient city walls, visiting the Rector's Palace and the Franciscan Monastery, and taking a cable car ride up to Mount Srd for panoramic views of the city and the Adriatic Sea.

 

From Dubrovnik, we will drive to the city of Split, located on the central Dalmatian coast. Split is known for its gorgeous beaches, ancient Roman ruins, and vibrant nightlife. Some of the top attractions in Split include the UNESCO-listed Diocletian's Palace, the Peristyle Square, and the Riva promenade, which is lined with cafes, bars, and restaurants.

 

Our final destination will be the Austrian capital of Vienna, known for its surprising architecture, rich cultural heritage, and excellent cuisine. Vienna is a city of contrasts, with a splendid old town and many modern attractions. Some of the top things to see and do in Vienna include visiting the Hofburg Palace, home to the Habsburg dynasty, taking a stroll through the superb Schönbrunn Palace and Gardens, and indulging in some of the delicious Viennese pastries, such as Sachertorte and Apfelstrudel.
